Happy New Year, everyone!
It’s been such a crazy time during the holidays. I don’t know about you but I’m glad we are in 2023. Everyday is an opportunity to do and be something more than the day before. It’s been a life long achievement that I’ve stuck around on my skincare page for over 2 years now. Regardless of all those IG algorithm changes – I’m still using my page to showcase my work and thoughts of everything I’ve had my hands on.
To end my year is to round out my final empties I’ve finished in December 2022.
Let’s Dig Into Them:
- Body Care Products::
- Topicals – Like Butter Mist – $30 (maybe)
- It soothed my irritated skin especially during ultra cold days. The smell was horrible though – I was not a fan (don’t spray in a small space would be my tip). This went through too quickly for me to want to repurchase. However if I was gifted this I would use immediately.
- Sol de Janeiro – Bom Dia Body Scrub – $42 (maybe)
- I really enjoyed this body scrub. The sugar melted easily but not too easily. It worked well to help with keeping my skin clear. I had no ingrown hair issue and made my skin feel super soft after use. Plus it smells amazing! It’s a maybe on the repurchase because it is on the pricier side for a KP scrub.
- Hero Cosmetics – Power Wash – $14.99 (yes)
- This is a given. I’ve gone through bottles and bottles of this for my acne prone body. I make it a staple every time I travel as well.
- First Aid Beauty – Facial Radiance Pads – $36 (maybe)
- While these pads are advertised for the face, I’ve actually been using them for my underarms. The ingredients of Glycolic + Lactic Acids I knew would help lighten and smooth, just didn’t know how long it would take. I was able to complete a 60 day journey and be able to notice a difference. I have tried another liquid option that worked quicker, and a lot less expensive but not in a convenient pad. I am however on a second bottle because it was gifted. While I continue this journey, I’ll be able to make a better determination of the results.
- Topicals – Like Butter Mist – $30 (maybe)
- Hair Care Products::
- Living Proof – Scalp Care Dry Shampoo Treatment – $37
- I’m already on my second bottle. Even my daughter is on her 2nd bottle too. We really love this scalp treatment. It has helped with the dryness and itchiness we experience on a daily basis. Now that this is steadily in my lineup – I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my scalp. I don’t know what I would do without it.
- Sol de Janeiro – Brazilian Joia Milky Leave-In Conditioner – $28
- This was on my maybe list. Only because the packaging became faulty as I slowly got down to half way down the bottle. The spray would randomly get stuck and I’d have to open it and moved some product around. Either than that – it smelt amazing and left my hair feeling uber smooth and silky.
- Living Proof – Scalp Care Dry Shampoo Treatment – $37
- Skincare Products::
- Farmacy Beauty
- Whipped Greens – $28
- This cleanser moved way up to the top of my charts. It smells like the Green Clean and foamed up nicely. My skin felt clean and not dry cracking after a cleanse. Even if I waited a couple of minutes my skin loved it so much.
- Green Clean – $24 travel size
- I’ve gone through many many bottles. The OG is by far still my favorite of all. Nothing compares to this cleansing balm. Well maybe on competitor but this has nothing but rave reviews from me.
- Honey Potion Plus – $60
- I’m not usually a wash-off mask fan but this has been an amazing. The heat activating experience really gives me that spa like experience. Then I was off with cool water and the hot/cold is really great for my skin. Smells like straight up honey too. I would definitely repurchase this once I run out of other wash-off masks.
- Whipped Greens – $28
- Cerave – Hydrating Facial Cleanser – $13.49
- While I do enjoy this cleanser and would repurchase. It’s at the bottom of my list. The reason is because I found out they are NOT cruelty-free (so saddd). Anyway, it is fragrance free and perfect for traveling to any weather (hot or cold). Trust me I’ve actually taken it on trips to Mexico and Kansas so I know the weather is complete opposite.
- First Aid Beauty – 10% Vitamin C Brightening Serum – $50
- I really enjoyed this Vitamin C serum. Unfragranced. Helped my dark spots fade over time. Also, any new dark spots healed quickly as I used the serum. While it is pricey – I do expect to drop some money on this type of serum for sure.
- Skin1004 – Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF 50+ PA++++ – $19
- Now if you’re a huge fan of that Innisfree sunscreen that is sold at Sephora – I will tell you you’ll love this more. It’s a thinner consistency but melts easily onto my skin. Never had any issues makeup application either. It’s a SPF50 which I now have noticed works much better during peak summer months. There is no notable fragrance either.
- Herbivore Botanicals – MOON DEW 1% Bakuchiol + Peptides Retinol Alternative Firming Eye Cream – $48
- This was my first bakuchiol experience as an eye cream and I quite enjoyed it. I noticed my eye area had no new lines. It tightened a bit which is great. All these sleepless nights were very noticeable as a usual case but not this time. There is a slight fruit scent but only if you put the bottle to your nose, using a small amount it is not in the forefront.
- Aquaphor – Healing Ointment – sample
- This ointment was used for my keloid spots due to some over dryness. It has really helped out for sure. As an ointment I did expect my hands to get a bit sticky but as a spot treatment it’s totally worth it. This was recommended by my dermatologist as a way to rehydrate my skin and not cause any new acne issues.
- Youth to the People – Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask – sample
- I love the way this overnight mask smelt like. While I was traveling I forgot another moisturizer so I ended up using this as a daytime one and it worked out perfect. The air in Kansas was dry and even drier in my hotel room. My skin didn’t feel tight at all. I would totally repurchase this.
- Josie Maran – Whipped Argan Pro-Retinol Body Butter – sample
- While this was nice to keep my body nourished I did not care of the underlying scent. Even though it is labeled as unfragranced, that fake scent was highly noticeable. While I had hopes for this body butter to help with my Tiger Stripes, I didn’t noticing anything during the sample use. I may pick up but I want a couple more samples before I drop some money on this.
