We use skincare products all the time with our hands. Nowadays there are tools to help us achieve so much more. Sometimes we probably don’t even know why we need it. It can be inexpensive to super expensive.
Let me share with you my “overrated” tools others don’t care for and share what’s my ultimate favorite.
💫 Derma Roller – I picked this up during a sale with my Ipsy subscription. Please be careful with this tool. I always santize it before I use it, by boiling hot water then spray it dry with alcohol before use. The purpose of this tool is to help rejuvenate the skin, treat acne scarring, and reduce signs of aging. I haven’t used it often because I feel like I’m alway breaking out. I would use this in replace over Retinol, when I’m done with my Retinol treatment. Please remember to replace after using 10 uses for these at home ones.
💫 Red-Light Wand – Gifted by Solawave. I used a previous red-light therapy wand similar concept. It definitely helped with my fine lines across my forehead. This one I wanted to try focusing on my necklines. It’s the same concept which is to stimulate collagen, fades blemishes, and smooth fine lines. I need to be consistent with it more often. It is my goal to have it readily available at my work station because I can use it whenever.
💫 Cleansing Brush – Another tool I picked up on sale with Ipsy. I saw so many wonderful things about this tool so I had to pick it up. This specific tool has one side to exfoliate and the other to massage. Essentially for cleanser and moisturizer. I like to use it when my hands just don’t feel enough and I want a deeper clean. Since I have acne skin it’s really important to be as clean as possible. But please make up for it with lots of hydrating products.
💫 Facial Razors / Dermaplaning – These I wanted to try for fun. I picked up a small pack from TJ Maxx. I don’t see why people buy the expensive ones, maybe there’s more to it that I don’t know about. It is suppose to help remove hair, debris, excess oil, and dead skin cells. I only use it when I don’t have any active breakouts because I don’t want to accidentally shave my bump and cause more problems. I like the idea that removing the hair will allow products to penetrate further into my skin. And no it does not make your hair thicker when you shave but it’s just stubbles because of the fresh cut. Don’t use this if you are using retinol as it will irritate your skin. Do use an oil treatment before you shave to help reduce redness.
💫 Blemish Extractor – This is an amazing tool. I also picked this up from TJ Maxx. It’s a safe and effective way to remove blackheads or comodones/ white heads. I even like to use it to extract excess oils from my nose pores. It’s better than using my fingers plus it’s more sanitary when cleaned before use.
💫 Eye Treatments – This was gifted as part of my partnership with Flip. I like to use this in the mornings to depuff the eye area, stimulating circulation, and amplifying the absorption of skincare products. I use it maybe once a week – not often. I’d like to pick this up more often but I only use when my eyes feel super heavy.
💫 Facial Roller – I purchased this myself via Boscia website. I use it to depuff my morning face because it’s also coming out of my fridge. I’ve heard it will help slim but I don’t believe that. It just something quick to use in the morning or even when I’m using sheet masks.
